Biography:
Dr. Harung is a researcher on world-class performance at Oslo Metropolitan University, Norway, where he for many years was teaching Management, Ethics, and Peak Performance to classes of up to 500 students. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Manchester and has worked as a researcher at the University of Oxford, a naval officer, the CEO of an industrial firm, and the president of an international management college. Brain researcher Dr. Fred Travis from the USA and Harald were the first researchers in the world to find a brain basis for high performance. They researched world-class performers in sports (with an average of 11 medals in the Olympics and World Championships), management, and classical music. This research found that on the Performance Assessment—a measure of mind-brain development—the top performers on average scored almost twice as high as matched average-performing controls. Based on this and other research, Harald has formulated a Unified Theory of Performance, which states that higher mind-brain development provides the basis of higher performance in any profession or field of activity.
