Biography:
Dr. Hanadi Al-Thani earned her Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Qatar University and a Master's and Ph.D. in Sustainable Development from HBKU. She is the Head of Sustainability Initiatives at Qatar Foundation, leading the Smart City program. She has completed the Qatar Leadership Center program and is part of the MENA Sustainability Fellow Program.
An expert in air pollution and transport emissions, she has reached a broad audience through podcasts in English and Arabic. Her innovative approach to evaluating air pollution sources is showcased in a patent provisional filing. She conducts workshops, public awareness sessions, and graduate-level lectures.
She has contributed to the National Digital Skills Strategy and the regulatory framework for IoT and Machine-to-Machine Communication. She served on the Scientific Committee for the 14th International Conference on Hydrogen Production (ICH2P-2023).
She is a double awardee of the Educational Excellence Award from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Qatar, receiving it for both her Ph.D. in 2023 and her M.A.Sc. in 2019.
