Biography:
Dr. Majani Edward is a global public health researcher, editor, and emerging African leader with over five years of experience advancing research, scientific publishing, health systems strengthening, and evidence-informed policy across Africa and beyond. He has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications focusing on Infectious disease epidemiology, Implementation Sciences, Health systems strengthening, and health diplomacy, reflecting his commitment to translating evidence into real-world impact.
He currently serves as Executive Director of the Centre for Research and Leadership (CRL), where he leads initiatives focused on research capacity strengthening, leadership development and evidence translation for emerging researchers and young leaders across Africa. He also serves as Head of the Research and Training Unit at MacWish College of Health and Allied Sciences.
Dr. Majani is the Managing Editor of the Journal of Infectious Disease Policy and has extensive editorial experience with international journals. Through his mentorship and training initiatives, he has supported more than 300 early-career researchers globally. His contributions to leadership and public health have been recognized through prestigious fellowships and awards, including YALI and the Michigan Fellows Africa Initiative.
