Biography:
Meera Alaji is a PhD candidate in biochemistry at ITMO University and a research engineer at the Lab of Regenerative Biomedicine, Institute of Cytology. She holds an MSc in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (Nucleic Acid Nanotechnology, ITMO University) and a BSc in Biomedical Science from Damascus University. Her research focuses on amplification-free DNA nanomachines for early, non-invasive cancer diagnostics, including a binary DNAzyme platform for detecting testicular germ cell tumor biomarkers, published in the Russian Journal of Bioorganic Chemistry and ChemBioChem. She has presented her work at international conferences, including OpenBio and the ITMO Congress of Young Scientists, winning awards for best presentation.
