Biography:
Nadeali Akbar is a Capacity Building Assistance Specialist with Us Helping Us, People into Living Inc., where she focuses on harm reduction and opioid abatement in the Washington, DC area. Passionate about public and global health, Nadeali is particularly interested in the intersection of health and social factors such as race, gender, and sexuality. She leverages this knowledge to build strategic partnerships with local DC organizations to deliver opioid abatement workshops and build organizational capacity around safe drug use conversations and harm reduction efforts.
Mario Gray is a writer, advocate, poet, and proud BLERD (Black nerd) from Baltimore, Maryland. With over a decade of experience in public health, he serves as the Training and Capacity Building Assistance Manager at Us Helping Us, where he has dedicated more than nine years. His work focuses on harm reduction, workshop development, overdose prevention, sexual health education, and empowering youth through self- efficacy and capacity building.
